So, I've decided that I don't want to be this size anymore. I'm not real fat, but I want to be thinner. You know what I mean? Our family is traveling with Ry's whole fam to Disneyworld or Disneyland this coming November and I have decided that I want to lose around 20 pounds by then. Think I can do it? I might be asking for a lot seeing that that will be about what I weighed in college. But, seriously, how fabulous would that feel? I'm going for 10 pounds by the end of July, then 10 more by November. So, I'm sorry in advance, but I'm going to use this blog as my kind of journal to track my weight loss woes and triumphs. I think it will also give me something to be accountable to. You will have to keep me on track. I'm nervous because I haven't lost anything since I had Avery 2 years ago. In fact, I think I might have gained a pound or two. So, any advice, tricks, anything to make this easier, let my know...recipes, workout tips, I want to know about anything that has worked for you. Because, truthfully, I have been trying to lose weight since I had Avery. I just think I'm not working hard enough, eating too much, I don't know. That's the thing right there- I don't really know how to lose weight. I wish I had a personal trainer and a personal chef. Wouldn't that make life easier!! But, the plan for now is to work out every morning during the week- either running a couple of miles on the treadmill, doing a strengthening video I have called the Firm, jump roping, or going walking outside. The eating part is the hardest for me. So, my goal is to eat less, eat from every food group for everymeal (which means I will have to eat my fruits and veggies- which I usually do only for dinner), not eat a sweet after every meal (I seriously crave something sweet everytime I eat. I usually grab a few chocolate chips or something), and not eat anything after dinner. For all you gurus out there- how does that sound? Am I on the right track? Wish me luck! Anyone want to join me in the great adventure? I would love to have a partner or two!!

I'll join you! I like having someone who can keep your motivation up and work together. You always look so awesome, but I know what you mean just to lose a little! So count me in!
Yay Liz! I'm excited. I think I'll post my results every week. Not because anyone else cares, but like I said, accountability! I guess I have to go buy a scale. Booo.
I'm down! Lets be work out buddies. Roller bladding tomorrow morning? This afternoon? I think doing this online is smart, because you're right. Once you put it out there, you're accountable. You should have a day out of the week that you weigh in and share. Not the real number of course because who would want to do that! Just the lbs lost or gained.
Hi Emily! I just started the South Beach diet a week ago. Those sweet cravings that you mention, it is designed to help you over come those. It is challenging the first two weeks as it is no carbs/no sugar. But we've made it through the first week successfully. I've lost 8lbs and Brian has lost 7 lbs. It's amazing!! I'm sure you don't need something this drastic but maybe you could incorporate some of the principles. For exercise we do intervals, like run for a minute then walk for a few, repeat. Good luck!
